Funktoberfest

Brewed in the dog days of summer. Fermented cool and lagered for 10 weeks. Funktoberfest is ready to drink just as summer fades into fall. Rich, malty and complex, the layers of honey, biscuits and cocoa flavors never overwhelm the crisp and satisfying nature of this perfect lager. 

Not too heavy, but stronger and more comforting than a pale lager.  Brewed for when the days are still full of sunshine and warmth but the nights are brisk and magical with the smells of late night backyard fire pits. This is a beer that rocks a hoodie while wearing shorts.

Although Funktoberfest may be slightly less dark and chewy than a “true” Märzen it is much closer to that than the now ubiquitous golden “Festbier” style developed for export markets by German brewers. Hand crafted in limited quantities with traditional German ingredients and techniques. There is nothing but malt, water, yeast and hops in what we consider to be our finest lager. Fire up the grill and get out the Bratwurst!
